XpertSea’s mission is to develop technologies that transform aquaculture into a modern, efficient and sustainable source of food for our planet. Through research and development of advanced technologies such as AI and computer vision, we’re increasing the availability of quality food, reducing the environmental impact of food production, and improving profitability across the aquaculture food chain.

We are looking for a Lead UX designer to work with our customers and internal teams to create highly functional, intuitive user interfaces and workflows for XpertSea’s products. You will work with our product managers, engineering teams, and customers to understand user needs and create beautiful, intuitive product designs. You will work at all stages of the product lifecycle - from early concept exploration to refining the usability and workflows of established products.


  • Conceptualize and implement solutions that solve core user challenges, achieve business objectives, and conform to technology capabilities
  • Create and validate new product prototypes based on user feedback, testing, field experimentation, and research
  • Design and hand-off high-fidelity UI and UX specs to clearly communicate requirements to engineers
  • Work closely with the product management and engineering teams to define product direction, build components, and ship well-constructed features
  • Stay current on UX best practices, specifically for mobile and emerging markets, and apply your design thinking to other areas of the platform and business

Minimum qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience designing engaging digital product user experiences
  • BA/BSc in Design, Digital Media, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
  • A design portfolio showcasing your work
  • Proven capacity to empathize with and build solutions for users
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to influence and inspire others
  • Proficiency with modern design tools (Sketch, Figma, InVision, your preferred software)
  • Self-motivated and able to work efficiently without close supervision

Desirable assets

  • Experience with Webflow
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS
  • Experience designing for various platforms including web, desktop and mobile.
